Who provides the data of each theft?
Every UK marine Insurance Company has the facility to record thefts that have been notified to them. Police forces throughout the UK also have the facility to update the information listed.
What happens to the information submitted by Insurers?
Information submitted is immediately available on the database and an email containing the information is also instantly sent to all Police Marine Units in the UK.
How much does this cost?
There is no cost to search the database or for insurers to submit details of thefts. The site is non-profit making and any advertising revenue will be used for maintaining the site and to further promote StolenBoats.org.uk
What should I do if I have information relating to one of the items listed?
You should click on the "provide tip-off" link below the information about the stolen item. Any information you submit will be sent through to the relevant insurance company and to the police for further investigation. The information submitted will be treated in the strictest confidence. Rewards may be available, but if you would prefer, it is possible to submit any information anonymously.
